Dalvík - North of Iceland / Norte de Islandia
Navegando por Youtube me he encontrado con este vídeo que explica a la perfección cómo están ahora en el norte de Islandia, a tan sólo 40 Km de Akureyri, en Dalvík.
Gracias a Dios (o no) en Reykjavík no llegaremos a eso, pero estoy deseando ir en navidades a Akureyri, va a ser impresionante.

Iceland for icelanders? / ¿Islandia para los islandeses?

La pasada semana se endureció el debate político en Islandia debido a unas declaraciones de miembros del "Partido Liberal" en referencia al explosivo asunto de la inmigración. En un artículo titulado '¿Islandia para los Islandeses?' publicado en Blaðið, el último caballo de batalla de los políticos, el magistrado de la Corte Suprema Jón Magnússon, expresó sus preocupaciones sobre lo que él percibe como un 'torrente implacable de extranjeros' a Islandia y clama por una ley de inmigración más dura.
En el artículo, Magnússon enfatiza que él no tiene "[...] nada en contra de los Polacos u otros Cristianos de nuestra parte del mundo. Por ejemplo, me encantan los Daneses, Suecos y Noruegos [...]. Si intentas luchar contra el torrente de inmigrantes en el país, eso no tiene nada que ver con despreciar otras naciones o con el racismo." Viene a decir que no querría ver Musulmanes emigrando a Islandia, y que el país tiene ahora delante suya "[...] la amenaza más grande que la nación independiente de Islandia y su cultura hayan visto nunca."
El Vicepresidente del partido, Magnús Þór Hafsteinsson, apoya a Magnússon y así lo muestra con sentimientos similares en 'talk shows' y bitácoras, aseverando que está preocupado con el incremento del desempleo, diferencias salariales y el aumento de los delitos y la pobreza que sigue a la inmigración ilegal. En un reciente artículo en una bitácora, aseveró que había recibido un tremendo apoyo por parte de los islandeses desde que comenzó este debate.
"El Partido Liberal", fundado en 1998, actualmente tiene tres ministros en el gobierno y es muy conocido por su postura en contra de la normativa islandesa de pesca. En una declaración realizada hoy, la Secretaria General del partido, Margrét K. Sverrisdóttir, enfatizó que el partido está principalmente preocupado por ver cómo el sistema gubernamental islandés no está preparado para manejar el incremento del flujo de inmigrantes, y los efectos que tendrá la inmigración incontrolada sobre los trabajadores islandeses. Ésto debe ser discutido sin acusaciones de racismo, dijo. "Repito que 'El Partido Liberal' no aprueba la discriminación de las personas según sus creencias religiosas. Por tanto, aquellos que dicen que sólo los Cristianos consigan el permiso de residencia aquí y no las personas de otras religiones no tiene sitio en nuestro partido. La idea de que 'El Partido Liberal' apoyaría tal discriminación religiosa es redícula."
Muchos han respondido, y condenado, las protestas de Hafsteinsson y Magnússon, diciendo que muestra las marcas típicas de populismo y racismo. En una declaración realizada hoy, los líderes de todas las agrupaciones juveniles de los partidos políticos Islandeses, salvo "El Partido Liberal" expresaron su decepción por las declaraciones racialmente y religiosamente prejuiciosas realizadas por los políticos.
Morgunblaðið ha informado que aproximadamente 7.000 extranjeros se han incorporado al mercado de trabajo islandés este año y que la mayoría de los islandeses está a favor de una sociedad multicultural. Otro informe que cita al departamento de policía de Reykjavík dice que no hay ninguna señal que indique un aumento de los delitos de inmigrantes.

Last week has seen an onslaught of political debate in Iceland regarding remarks made by members of “The Liberal Party” on the explosive issue of immigration. In an article published in Blaðið last Wednesday entitled ‘Iceland for Icelanders?’, the struggling party’s latest addition, Supreme Court lawyer Jón Magnússon, voiced his concerns about what he perceives to be a ‘relentless stream of foreigners’ to Iceland and calls for a tougher immigration law.
In the piece, Magnússon emphasises that he has “[…] nothing against Poles or other Christians from our part of the world. For example, I really like Danes, Swedes and Norwegians […]. If you try and fight the increased stream of immigrants to the country, that has nothing to do with disrespecting other nations or racial prejudice.” He goes on to say that he would not want to see Muslims immigrate to Iceland, and that the country now faces “[…] the greatest threat an independent Icelandic nation and Icelandic culture has thus far seen.”
The party’s Vice President, Magnús Þór Hafsteinsson, followed Magnússon’s lead and continues to echo similar sentiments in talk shows and blog-posts, stating that he is concerned with increased unemployment, faltering wages and a rise in crime and poverty following unregulated immigration. In a recent blog-post, he stated that he had received tremendous support from Icelanders since the debate started.

Ciutadans - Partido de la Ciudadanía
España no es un país libre.
En Cataluña por ejemplo existen dos lenguas oficiales, el castellano y el catalán, pero el castellano está completamente discriminado. La Generalitat ha conseguido que sea imposible estudiar en castellano como lengua vehicular en la escuela pública, no permite rotular en castellano los carteles de las tiendas bajo pena de multa, escribe sólo en catalán todas sus comunicaciones oficiales, subvenciona sólo al cine, teatro, literatura hechos en catalán, la televisión pública es sólo en catalán... etc.
En Cataluña el 53,5% de sus habitantes tiene el castellano como lengua materna pero no se les tiene en cuenta. Cataluña está enferma de nacionalismo, ese nacionalismo totalitario que ya sufrió durante cuarenta años de franquismo y que ahora lleva sufriendo más de veinte años con el nacionalismo catalán.
Como respuesta ha surgido un nuevo partido político Ciutadans - Partido de la Ciudadanía. Su lema: No nos importa donde naciste, no nos importa la lengua que hablas, no nos importa qué ropa vistes, nos importas TÚ. “Sólo nos importan las personas”.
Los puntos esenciales de Ciutadans son:
- Ciudadanía: Los territorios carecen de derechos. Sólo tienen derechos las personas. Apostamos por la pluralidad y por desterrar las políticas identitarias de los poderes públicos.
- Libertad e Igualdad: El partido hace suyos los principios heredados de la Ilustración.
- Laicismo: Separación completa de Estado, Religión y Nacionalismo. La religión y tu sentimiento nacional es privado no público. En la educación no se alienará religiosamente (para eso están las iglesias, mezquitas...) ni tampoco se inculcará una identidad nacional.
- Multilingüismo: Defendemos el conocimiento lingüístico como un valor esencial en la sociedad y apostamos por elevar la realidad social a las instituciones. Defendemos el bilingüismo real de la sociedad catalana y solicitamos que se exprese de igual manera en los poderes públicos y la educación.
- Constitución: Defendemos que la soberanía reside en el conjunto de la ciudadanía española. Abogamos por la paralización de transferencias de competencias a las autonomías y por conservar un gobierno central con los instrumentos necesarios para defender el bien común.

Un Islandés en los Simpsons / An Icelander in Simpsons
Recientemente se ha revelado que Carl, amiguete de Homer Simpson y compañero de trabajo en la Central Nuclear de Springfield, ha nacido y crecido en Islandia.
En un episodio en el que Springfield se iluminó con focos gigantes las 24 horas del día, Carl anunció que los focos le recordaban las luminosas noches de verano de su niñez en Islandia.
Hasta ahora se había creído que Carl era de Cincinnati, pero según wikipedia.org definitivamente nació en Islandia.

Recently it was revealed that Carl, Homer Simpson’s buddy and colleague at the Springfield Power Plant, was born and raised in Iceland.
In an episode where Springfield was flooded by light 24/7, Carl announced that the floodlights reminded him of the bright summer nights of his childhood in Iceland, Fréttabladid reports.

The Match of the Century / El Partido del Siglo
Berglind y yo fuimos los únicos 'vikingos' (seguidores del Real Madrid) en Glaumbar durante toda la primera parte. Con mi primer grito, exactamente en el minuto 2 (gol del RM), me di cuenta que sólo una voz retumbaba en el bar, la mía... ¡¡¡arrrgghhhhhhhhh!!!
A nuestra derecha teníamos a dos barceloneses y a su vez culés sufriendo y sufriendo. Uno de ellos muy simpático y normalito pero el otro la verdad que demasiado fanático a mi entender, ni nos hablaba prácticamente... y ¡¡unos golpes en la mesa!!
Por fin en la segunda parte cuatro 'merengues' entraron en el bar y nuestras voces se unieron en un sólo grito. Al final el Madrid ganó 2-0. ¡Hala Madrid!
Gudjohnsen no tuvo un buen día, quizás la próxima...
Y esto es todo amigos. Así es como fue mi primer 'partido del siglo' en Islandia.

Berglind and me were the only 'vikings' (Real Madrid fan) in Glaumbar all the first half of the match. With my first shout, exactly in the second minute (Real Madrid goal), I realized that only one voice was sounding in the bar, mine... arrrghhhh!!
On our right hand two guys from Barcelona, and of course of the Barcelona FC, were suffering. One of them was very fanatic and he didn't talk to us very much and sometimes he hit the table... Loser!!!! ;)
Finally in the second half four Real Madrid fans ('merengues') came into the bar and our voices joined in the same shout. At last Real Madrid won 2-0. ¡Hala Madrid!
Gudjohnsen didn't have a good day, maybe next time he'll be better.
And that's all folks, That's how it was my first 'match of the century' in Iceland.

¿Quien me iba a decir que un Real Madrid-Barça iba a levantar tantas pasiones por estos lares? Y es normal, desde que Gudjohnsen fichó por el Barcelona todo se ha disparado.
Si enciendo la tele... un anuncio del Real Madrid-Barça, si estoy en una tienda... en la radio un anuncio del R-B, si voy a un bar... un cartelito anunciando el R-B, si veo la tele china a través de internet... otro anuncio del Real Madrid-Barcelona.
Además siempre con musiquilla así como de película de acción de Hollywood, me imagino que las palabras irán acordes por lo menos el tono lo parece.
Bueno, que os digo que iré al partido (seguramente seré el único del Madrid porque Berglind tendrá el corazón Real Madrid/Gudjohnsen) y ya os contaré. Mientras tanto si os queréis mantener informados hay una página islandesa del barça, flipante: www.fcbarcelona.is

Who would have thought a Real Madrid-Barça football match would be the match of the century in Iceland? Since Gudjohnsen was hired by FC Barcelona this team is the number one in Iceland.
